AFESIP Lao PDR

About Us

AFESIP is a French non-governmental, non-partisan and non-religious organisation. Beginning its activities at grass-root level in Cambodia in 1996, AFESIP established missions in Vietnam and Thailand before opening its Laos contingent in 2006.

AFESIP aims to contribute to the struggle against human trafficking of women and children for sexual exploitation or slavery.

Somaly Mam, Founder of AFESIP, is also the President of End Child Prostitution, Abuse and Trafficking (ECPAT) Cambodia, President of the Women's Confederation of Cambodian Organisations (WCCO) and the Fourth Director of ASEAN Confederation of Women's Organisations (ACWO). Somaly founded and has since directed her own foundation, the Somaly Mam Foundation, which combats the illegal trade of women and children by funding the work of organisations such as AFESIP.
