Reintegration
AFESIP Lao PDR has a central objective to support the reintegration of victims to their communities, through sustainable financial independence after the rehabilitation process. In order to facilitate reintegration, AFESIP provides a 'business starting kit' either in-kind (stock for micro-business) or in cash (through micro-credit), utilised as a source of income generating activities to avoid re-trafficking.
In addition, we search for employment opportunities for women and girls. One of AFESIP’s most successful initiatives in this field stems from the establishment of a social enterprise (fair trade business) in Vientaine providing sustainable employment and training in beauty and hairdressing.
The reintegration elements include:
- Family tracing
- Family assessment and reunification
- Supporting family income generation opportunities
- Independent resettlement of girls/women in the communities
- Follow up of cases for up to 3 years.
